2. Prevention and Training: Mandatory Training:

Require all clergy, religious personnel, and staff to undergo compulsory training on child sexual abuse prevention, identification, and reporting.

  • Safe Environment Policies: Implement robust policies and procedures to protect children and vulnerable adults.
  • Background Checks: Conduct thorough background checks on all personnel, including volunteers.
  • Child Protection Committees: Establish child protection committees at all levels of the Church to oversee prevention efforts and respond to allegations.

  • Accountability of Leaders: Hold Church leaders accountable for preventing and addressing abuse.
  • Transparency and Openness: Promote a culture of transparency and openness within the Church.
  • Lay Involvement: Encourage greater lay involvement in Church governance and decision-making.
